“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only.  Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”

– Coco Chanel

NYC Streetstyle

A big part of New York is Fashion, most importantly Style.  Style is in the street.  Style is everything!  When you live in a city as beautiful and lively as NYC, you have to dress the part.

I find inspiration in the streets.  What catches my eyes is the ability New Yorkers have to express their personalities through their clothes.

What makes me want to photograph is mouvement.  The way people move when they are comfortable in their clothes.  There is confidence in their posture, in their walk, no matter who they are, how old they are and where they are going.

Photo Shoots

People are the most beautiful when they embrace who they are and who they want to become.  Living their passion makes them glow. I found bloggers endearing.  They dare to express themselves and expose themselves to the public.

I love meeting and working with fellow bloggers.

Whether they are ruling for a cause, documenting their lives, or showcasing their outfits, I take great pleasure in photographing them.

A photoshoot always leads to a lot of fun, great pictures and most of a time the beginning of a friendship.

Fashion Week Street Style

The first time I dared to photograph a stranger in the streets was at New York Fashion Week.  I remember it like if it was yesterday (it was in fact in 2012).  It was on a freezing February afternoon and I had been out with my camera in hand.  I found myself at the Lincoln Center where an interesting and stylish silhouette crossed my path.  As I was staring, she smiled at me and asked if I wanted to snap a picture of her.  I kindly obliged.

Suddenly New York City was not my only model anymore, New Yorkers were in my spotlight as well.  A certain adrenaline had grown on me.  I guess you can say I found a purpose that day.  I ended up going back to photograph people making their way to the tents the remaining days of NYFW.  The rest is history.
